Nandagokula, the performing team  of Arehole Partishtana and  started in the year 2014, and is lead by  well known artist Kumari Shwetha Arehole,. They perform classical, Semi classical, folk, Indian Contemporary and various other forms of dances. Team Nandagokula is  actively engaged in  producing and performing plays and dance dramas directed by the well known directors of the country. This team is one of the leading performing team of the state.

Nandagokula Dance Company, originally known simply as Nandagokula, has been a vibrant force in the world of dance and theatre for several years. Guided by the philosophy “Kaleyonde Kula”—which translates to “Art is the only caste we know”—the company upholds the belief that creativity transcends boundaries and unites everyone through artistic expression. Under the dedicated leadership of Ms. Shwetha Arehole, Nandagokula has grown into a respected performing arts ensemble comprising twenty talented artists.

The company performs a versatile range of dance styles, including Bharatanatyam, Indian Contemporary, Yakshagana, Semi-Classical, and various Indian Folk forms. Their performances are known for their precision, expressive storytelling, and vibrant choreography. Beyond traditional stage presentations, Nandagokula is deeply involved in theatre productions and dance dramas, bringing historical, mythological, and cultural narratives to life with grace and emotional depth.

One of the team’s landmark productions, “Gokula Nirgamana,” stands as a testament to their artistic excellence. Directed and choreographed by Ms. Shwetha Arehole and written by Late P. T. Narisamchar, the show has received immense appreciation for its powerful narrative, expressive choreography, and seamless blending of dance and theatre.

At present, the troupe is engaged in multiple ambitious productions such as:

  • “Biduvane Bramhalinga” – a dance drama based on the divine story of Maranakatte Bramhalingeshwara
  • “Mandarthi Maadevi” – inspired by the rich folklore and spiritual heritage of Mandarthi Shri Durgaparameshwari Temple
  • “Mamaimedappe Mangaladevi” – a Tulu dance production celebrating Goddess Mangaladevi, the revered deity of Tulunadu
  • “Aneguddeya Aa Shri Vinayaka” – A dance production narrating the mythological tale of Anegudde Temple
  • “Kolluru Shri Mookambika” A dance production depicting the legacy of Kolluru Mookambika Temple.
  • “Barkurin Hadag” – A dance production portraying the cultural significance of Aliyakattu paddati.

What makes Nandagokula truly unique is its dynamic group of artists, ranging in age from seven to twenty-five years, all trained under the expert guidance of Ms. Shwetha Arehole. Their stamina, discipline and devotion are evident in the fact that they effortlessly perform non-stop shows lasting up to three hours, maintaining grace and energy throughout.

Nandagokula Dance Company also upholds a noble philosophy of “sharing is caring.” The honorary amount they receive for their performances is shared among all performing artists, helping many of them support their education and personal growth. Any remaining funds are used for service and community welfare activities through the Arehole Pratishtana, reinforcing the company’s commitment to art with purpose.

Over the years, Nandagokula has earned a reputation not just as a performing troupe, but as a cultural movement that nurtures young talent, revives traditional art forms, and spreads the message of unity through art. With every performance, they continue to inspire, educate, and leave a lasting impression on audiences across Karnataka and beyond.
